ATA TIGERS Ages 4-6
The ATA Tiger program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages four through six. It offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. The program is also designed to improve children’s motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All classes are taught using the most safe, fun, and exciting instruction methods available for this age group. This program like the Karate for Kids program teaches ATA’s monthly themes and value system. ATA Tigers have a back pack, Star card (to attach to back pack), and a Life Skill book that corresponds to their rank. Stars are earned in the same way as the Karate for Kids program, with slight modifications in recognition. We use the ATA Tigers Star Card in place of the “V” patch. Tigers, can earn stars by using the “Star”sheets and returning them to the instructor. When your student has earned 25 stars he/she will be awarded their next Star Card . Tiny Tigers also learn “Stranger Danger” based on the Kidz N Power program.
ATA MARTIAL ARTS GOAL: To teach your children to be a positive example at home, school and in martial arts class through a fun and structured program.
KARATE FOR KIDS
There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the martial arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids ages 7-12 called Karate for Kids. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as: Goals, Perseverance, Self-Control, Confidence, Courtesy, Respect, Integrity, Self-Esteem, Dedication.
In addition to monthly themes, Karate Kids are rewarded special “Victory Stars.” Like the Tiny Tigers these are earned by using the “Star”sheets and turning them into the instructor. Karate Kids also begin with a blue Victory patch, once they have filled this patch with 36 blue stars, they may be awarded their silver “Victory”patch and so on. Karate for Kids also learn self-defense/bully prevention based on ATA’s Agent G bully prevention program.
It is never too late to start training in Taekwondo. Our students come to us in many different circumstances with different abilities. Each student is trained to do their individual best and are never compared to anyone else. Some of the benefits you can expect from your training in the adult program are: Physical Fitness, Self-Defense, and Self-Confidence.
Leadership is not only a quality, but a responsibility. We encourage our students to step up to the challenge of being the living example. The program’s goal is to build tomorrow’s leaders for our communities, state and country. Students learn management skills to apply to life and learn how to be leaders rather than followers. This is the most extensive training available and students in the Leadership Program have the opportunity to train to become ATA’s future instructors.
